The ADC is acutely aware of the fear and uncertainty facing designers and producers across the country. This is an extremely challenging time, with great risks for the financial health and well-being of our members.
Please don't hesitate to connect with the office, or the Board Executive if you have any questions or concerns.
We are working actively to advocate on behalf of our members - and designers across the country - and to develop and disseminate resources for everyone.
We are also committed to supporting our members in their own advocacy and recovery as much as we possibly can.

The ADC encourages designers to write their representatives at all levels — federal, provincial, and municipal. To help members in preparing letters, we've prepared a simple letter that you may wish to use as a template.
A small section of the letter includes a personal reflection: we encourage you to amend it with a personal note or reflection of your own.
If you are unsure of your representative, we have prepared a document with links to access this information nation-wide, including some local city councils.

We have prepared a survey for all designers to record the currently anticipated financial losses (short- and long-term) of cancelled work as a result of COVID-19. This is open to members and non-members, and to designers, associates, and assistants alike.
We need as comprehensive a set of data as possible as quickly as possible, in order to facilitate efforts to lobby all levels of government and arts councils.

The ADC has sent this letter to the Canada Council for the Arts, and sent similar letters to provincial arts councils across the country. Over the coming days, we will also send letters to municipal arts councils, where we can.
